Overview
CDesk ("the App", "we", "us") is a citizen complaint reporting app that lets residents report civic issues (roads, water supply, sanitation, street lighting, and similar) to the relevant municipal department.
By using CDesk, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Mobile number — used to verify your identity via a one-time password (OTP) when you sign in.
- Name — included with every complaint so it can be reviewed by the relevant department.
- Email address (optional) — if provided, used to send you updates about your complaint.
- Complaint details — the department/category, description, and the address/landmark and ward you provide.
- Photo (optional) — an image you choose to attach to help describe the issue.
Automatic information
Basic device and app diagnostic information (e.g. app version, crash reports) may be collected to help us fix bugs and improve reliability.
We do not collect precise GPS location. The "ward" field is a manual selection from a list, not a live location reading.
2. How We Use Your Information
We do not use your personal information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- Verify your identity via OTP so complaints cannot be filed anonymously or maliciously.
- Route your complaint to the correct municipal department and ward office.
- Contact you with updates on your complaint's status.
- Generate and display a complaint tracking number so you can check progress.
- Improve the App's reliability and fix problems.
3. Sharing of Information
Your complaint details are shared with the relevant municipal department or ward office solely to resolve your complaint. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CDesk, our users, or the public.
4. Data Retention
We retain complaint records, including personal information submitted with them, for as long as necessary to resolve the complaint and maintain a service history, or as required by applicable record-keeping regulations.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Account & Data Deletion below.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Your Choices
- Email is optional — you may submit a complaint without providing one.
- Photo is optional — you may submit a complaint without attaching one.
- You can request account and data deletion at any time.
7. Children's Privacy
CDesk is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Account & Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time from inside the app: log in to CDesk, tap the profile icon at the top of the home screen, choose "Account & Data Deletion", enter your registered mobile number, verify it with a one-time password (OTP), and submit the request.
If you no longer have the app installed, you can use the account deletion web page or email us at sgbg.app@gmail.com, mentioning your registered mobile number.
We process deletion requests within 7 business days. Your mobile number, name, email address, and attached photos are deleted. Civic details of a complaint (such as category, ward, and status) may be retained in de-identified form where required for municipal record-keeping.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated date.
